Dr. Eric Weinstein, D.D.S: Restorative & Cosmetic Dentist
The son of a 50-year veteran in the field of dentistry, Eric Weinstein, D.D.S., P.C. had a passion for dentistry that began in his early childhood. He grew up in North Valley Stream and graduated from a three-year program at Adelphi University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He attended New York University College of Dentistry and graduated top of his class in 1991. He furthered his education in a post-doctorate general practice residency program at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, where he served as Chief Dental Resident until 1993.
Dr. Weinstein first entered private practice in Bayside and Valley Stream and with his father for a year. He went on to open Shine Dental Groupat 600 Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead and his practice grew from two chairs to nine chairs with a full-service, in-house dental laboratory.With the expansion of his dental practice he moved into his current state-of-the-art location across the street at 639 Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square. Drawing on the vast knowledge he attained during numerous hours of continuing education, he established a patient-centered practice that incorporates the latest technology and most current techniques in dental care. Working together with his Board-Certified Periodontist and his Orthodontist, Dr. Weinstein is proud to offer patients complete dental care under one roof.
In 2011, after 20 years in private practice, he and his two partners opened Shine Dental Associates of the North Shore, located at 400 Jericho Turnpike in Syosset. The establishment of this upscale practice fulfilled his dream to open an office in the style of a posh Manhattan hotel. His attention to detail and knowledge of interior design greatly contributed to the creation of a luxurious masterpiece in the North Shore of Long Island.
Dr. Weinstein’s participation in many dental societies, his thirst for advancing his dental career, and his genuine chair-side manner make him an outstanding clinician and exceptional member of the dental community. He maintains his attending position as part of the medical staff at North Shore University Hospital at Franklin Medical Center in Franklin Square, NY.
His compassion for elderly and homebound individuals prompted Dr. Weinstein to establish the Visiting Dental Care of New York division of his practice, which provides patients with dental care in their homes. He visits hospitals, extended care facilities, residences, and nursing homes to provide all types of dental services at the convenience of his patients and their caregivers.
Dr. Weinstein’s dedicated staff has been with him since he first began in private practice, and they support his endeavors to create smiles that last a lifetime and to make it affordable for patients to receive the care they want and deserve.
Dr. Weinstein resides on the North Shore of Long Island with his three children and his wife of 13 years who is a dental hygienist who graduated valedictorian of her class.
Dr. Vikas Mittle, D.D.S: Periodontist
Board Certified in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery
Dr. Vikas Mittle graduated from Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine and furthered his education at the University of Maryland Periodontal Specialty Program. Upon completion of his studies at the University of Maryland, he became Board-Certified in Periodontics.
Dr. Mittle recognizes that every patient’s case is unique and he strives to provide personalized, thorough treatment in a relaxed, patient-centric atmosphere. His gentle, confident approach makes the patient feel comfortable knowing they are receiving the best treatment in dentistry. He strongly believes in the mouth-body relationship and treats not only oral health but overall body health. Open communication is very important to Dr. Mittle. He continually corresponds with restorative dentist to optimize each patient’s treatment plan and treatment. Dr. Mittle is excited to play a role in improving each patient’s dental health and to maintain that health so the recurrence doesn’t happen again.
Dr. Mittle utilizes the latest technological advances in dentistry to treat all phases of periodontal disease and performs surgical procedures such as implants, bone grafting, crown lengthening, and extractions. He also specializes in performing efficient, non-surgical, non-invasive procedures such as root planning and scaling and antibiotic therapy. Inspired by his passion for rendering treatment with the latest surgical techniques, Dr. Mittle relentlessly pursues continuing education classes.

On a personal note, Dr. Mittle is married and lives with his wife on Long Island’s North Shore. He is very active in the community. Dr. Mittle is an active sports enthusiast, playing tennis, baseball and football. You can probably find him enjoying the night watching a show in the city or exploring new restaurants. Furthermore, he loves to relax with his wife by hiking in the Adirondacks or “chilling” out in a sauna getting a massage.
Dr. Nguyen graduated from NYU College of Dentistry with a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery. He did additional post graduate training through General practice Residency at Northshore-Long Island Jewish Hospital system. Dr. Nguyen was intensively trained in all aspects of dentistry.
When he is not working, he takes his children and wife out for family time. His hobbies are traveling and playing tennis.
Dr. Nguyen believes that he can restore and improve his patients’ confidence and quality of life by providing beautiful, healthy smiles. Also, he loves interacting and educating patients about prevention of oral diseases.
Dr. Nguyen is compassionate and understanding and will do whatever it takes to ensure his patients are relaxed and comfortable. He is a certified Invisalign provider and loves to help patients obtain a straight, healthy smile. Dr. Nguyen treats his patients with such care which makes them love coming to the dentist. These are the main things that make Dr. Nguyen love the wonderful field of dentistry!
Dr. Daniel Arzanipour is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry. He completed his post-graduate residency at Bellevue and Gouverneur Hospitals in Manhattan. Dr. Arzani strives to provide patients with the knowledge and confidence to guide them through their treatment needs in a manner that most effectively suits each individual. Appreciating the treatment goals of each patient and educating them is was leads to so many grateful treatment outcomes.
Dr. Arzanipour also holds a Master’s degree in Biochemical, Cell, and Molecular Biology from Binghamton University. Throughout his undergraduate, graduate, and professional educations Dr. Arzani has been actively involved in affairs between students and universities which has helped develop leadership roles.
He appreciates esthetics and the fine details beyond dentistry.
Dr. Arzanipour enjoys foraging through the supermarket, billiards, athletics, and music.
Dr. Vicky Dachs is a board certified general dentist. She is a graduate from New York University College of Dentistry and completed a one-year Residency at NYPQ Hospital. Becoming a dentist was an easy decision for her; both her father and brother are practicing dentists who share in her passionate dedication towards excellent patient care.
Dr. Dachs is committed to providing the highest quality care for her patients while utilizing the latest dental technologies to ensure a comfortable experience with a lasting and beautiful result. With her calm demeanor and confident touch, patients are relaxed and at ease while she cares for them. Her focus is pairing world-leading academic experience with art in creating a bright and beautiful smile for every single one of her patients.
Outside the office, Dr. Dachs resides in Woodmere with her husband Jacob, and two adorable kids. She enjoys barre classes, cooking, and traveling.

Daniella Sansotta, RDH
Daniella Sansotta, RDH, graduated of the Farmingdale State College School of Dental Hygiene, where she obtained her license to practice dental hygiene, and went on to complete the Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene program. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association, as well as Nassau County Dental Hygiene Association.
While completing her studies in the BSDH program at Farmingdale, Daniella completed her practicum by working with a reputable pharmaceutical manufacturer in the field of dental sales. This experience has enlightened Daniella to diversify her career within the profession of dental hygiene. While obtaining her license she completed her rotations at various healthcare facilities and hospitals on Long Island including LIJ Schneiders children hospital, Stony Brook Dental Clinic, and North Port’s VA clinic. Given that Daniella has a gift when it comes to putting children and special needs patients at ease in the dental chair, it is no wonder that she particularly enjoyed her experience at Schneider’s.
At Shine, Daniella aims to build lasting relationships with her patients through a healthy dose of social interaction mixed with oral health education. Aside from ensuring that her patients’ mouths are as healthy as possible, Daniella’s passion is her family and friends.
Daniella enjoys a great workout, and is an avid beach-goer (you can catch her at TOBAY) in the summer months. She strives to lead a healthy and hygienic lifestyle, and promotes such values to her patients, family, and friends.
Angelica Calarco, RDH
Angelica Calarco, RDH, studied Dental Assisting on Long Island, NY attaining her certificate in Dental Assisting. Motivated to further her skills, she enrolled in the dental hygiene program at Briarcliffe College in Patchogue, New York receiving her Dental Hygiene license and diploma in Applied Sciences. Due to all her hard work, she was the recipient of a patient education award. She is a member of the ADHA, American Dental Hygiene Association. With an eagerness to learn more and provide additional services to her devoted patients, she continues to increase her dental skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis, helping her fuel her passion for Dental Hygiene.
Angie was born and raised in Massapequa, NY. She has a passion for achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Her desire to understand the connection between oral health as it relates to overall well-being is the motivating factor in her career as a Dental Hygienist. Angie has 7 years’ experience in the Dental Industry. Proving herself as a dedicated dental professional, she prides herself on building long-lasting, trusting relationships with her patients.
Angie’s approach to treatment is professional and friendly, helping her patients to recognize the benefits of maintaining proper oral health. Angie believes the link between overall health and oral health should never go un-noticed, recognizing there is more to just a “cleaning” is all part of Angie’s commitment to individual treatment.
When Angie is not educating and making sure all her patients have the cleanest mouth possible, she enjoys spending her time with family and friends and traveling.
Eugene G. Herman, DMD
After receiving his BA in English at Westminster College he served in the US Army(1966-1968). He returned to St. Louis and enrolled at Washington University School of Dental Medicine. He received his DMD in 1974. He continued his training in Oral Surgery at Long Island Jewish. Ultimately opening his private practice in Rockville Centre NY in 1977 and continues to practice there currently.
Dr. Herman has been teaching at North Shore Dental for 40 plus years receiving numerous Oral Surgery Section awards over the years, including the North Shore/Long Island Jewish Outstanding Teacher Award in 2009. In 2016 he was awarded the Humanitarian of the Year award by his alma mater Washington University School of Dental Medicine.
Beginning in 2004 he became associated with Remote Area Medical (RAM) an organization that provides free dental care to disadvantaged patients (mostly in Tennessee). To date, Dr. Herman has made 45 trips to RAM clinics providing approximately 900 hours of free dental care. He is a vocal advocate of volunteerism and has led trips which include colleagues as well as residents
from Northwell Dental Clinic.
On a personal note, Dr. Herman has 2 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, and 4 grandchildren (2 granddaughters and 2 grandsons). He also served on the board of the Kehillath Shalom Synagogue in Cold Spring Harbor. He spearheaded the renovations of the old residence transforming it into the current synagogue.
