Osseous with Bone Grafting

Smile More for Less!

shutterstock_166384058Gum disease can cause your gums to bleed and become infected, swollen, or tender. As a result, the infected gum separates from the teeth, and a pocket develops. If left untreated, this infection can spread to the bone and cause bone loss.

Furthermore, this infection can result in losing your teeth and spread to the rest of your body.

Periodontal disease has been associated with heart disease, diabetes, premature births, and several other systemic health problems.

Sometimes deep cleanings and antimicrobial treatment are not enough. More treatment is needed for periodontal health.

Periodontal disease is the infection of the gums and bones. When you get bone loss, you start losing the support of your teeth. Your teeth become loose and fall out. Osseous is a periodontal procedure that allows us to correct the gum and bone infection directly, so you don’t get any more bone loss.

We numb you up the same way you would get a filling. The gum and bone are re-contoured, and the infection from under the gums is removed. The periodontal pocket and all the remaining plaque and tarter are also removed.

Shine Dental Associates has the ability to grow back the bone you lost from the infection. Bone grafting is placed in the area you lost your bone. This is done at the SAME time you are having the osseous procedure. You go to work the same day! Minimal discomfort and swelling occur.

While most procedures involve local anesthetics or nitrous oxide (laughing gas)…sedation is always available for anxious patients.

Our board-certified periodontist does all procedures. Our dentists in our state-of-the-art facility always use the most advanced technology, including instantaneous, comfortable digital X-rays. Each treatment room has high-definition flat-screen televisions and WiFi accessibility to make your experience as comfortable as possible.
